Hey hey. Welcome to Tap Soda, the fizzy fountain for AI News and Updates.
This week was very fizzy in taking meaningful steps toward AGI. Hereβs what we have for you today.
JARVIS - One model to rule them all π
AutoGPT: Mini AGI? π€

1. JARVIS - One model to rule them all π
JARVIS is a project by Microsoft built using ChatGPT and Hugging Face
LLMs like ChatGPT are very powerful but fall short when working with tasks consisting of vision, speech, etc.
HuggingFace Hub is an ML community that hosts open-source AI models. A lot of these models are experts in doing tasks that an LLM canβt.
JARVIS connects ChatGPT(LLM) to these Models like connecting a brain to its limbs. And in doing that it creates a model which a lot more powerful and can do a lot more stuff.
How does it work? Simple :
The user enters a prompt
An LLM (e.g. ChatGPT) parses your request and generates tasks based on this.
Then it chooses models from Hugging Face with a description that meets the task at hand.
These models return the results to LLMs.
Finally, the LLM summarizes the execution process and results and returns the summary to the user.

Right now the specs to run JARVIS locally are on the high end. But you can try it here using this space on HuggingFace - link here

I would highly suggest reading the paper - link here
2. AutoGPT: Mini AGI? π€
Another crazy one this week. AutoGPT one absolutely blew up on GitHub. It is powered by ChatGPT, can prompt itself, and can autonomously (independently) complete tasks.
AutoGPT not only has access to the internet but can also the ability to write code and execute code. It can also then recursively debug the written code.
Jokes aside. Even in these primitive stages, this is very exciting and the crazy part is, It can only get better.

3. Say Goodbye to Forgetful Chatbots: MemoryGPT Is Here! π§ π₯
Have you ever started a +New Chat with ChatGPT and tried to copy messages from previous chats?
It feels stupid to explain the context every time you start a new chat, and asking everything in one chat might not be useful when you want to separate different discussions.
Well, fear not, because MemoryGPT is here to save the day! It's like ChatGPT, but it actually remembers and holds context across conversations.
So now when you say that you are on a diet in a one chat and ask for recipes in another chat it will recommend you thin people food π₯
